Hyderabad: Telangana Auto Drivers’ Union president Vemula Maraiah on Monday urged the Transport Department authorities to extend free insurance cover of Rs 5 lakh to auto drivers as well.
He wanted the department to issue necessary guidelines immediately and come to the rescue of the bereaved auto drivers’ family members. In the absence of such insurance cover, the bereaved family members of the auto drivers were being driven in to financial crisis. TRSKV trade union leader A Sattireddy was also present on the occasion.
