A Mass Yoga Camp conducted in Central Prison, Hyderabad on the eve of 4th International Yoga Day by Art of Living, Hyderabad.  K. Arjuna Rao, Superintendent of Prisons, presided over the function. On this occasion he appreciated the efforts of the members of Art of Living in arranging the Yoga Training Camp in Central Prison.  He also appreciated the prisoners for participating in the camp.

Arjuna Rao, Superintendent of Prisons, presided over the function. On this occasion he appreciated the efforts of the members of Art of Living in arranging the Yoga Training Camp in Central Prison. He also appreciated the prisoners for participating in the camp.

He emphasized the importance of practising Yoga in day-to-day lives to free ourselves from the mental stress, tensions and also encouraged the prisoners to practise various pranayams, sudarshan kriyas, asanas and reap the benefits of this yoga camp, which facilitates to reform them after release.

Yoga is based on the principles of Ashtanga Yoga with an emphasis on improving stamina, flexibility, concentration and balance. Meditation is closely intertwined with the asanas which helps the body improve strength & flexibility to combat physical malaise & also help to co-ordinate mind & body. Various other officials of jail including Sai Baba, A Venkatesham, G Lakshminarayana, Krishna Nayak participated in the yoga camp. Similarly, Art of Living Deepika Amalpurikar, Leela Rathi and others were also present.
