Minister hands over `5 lakh ex gratia to kin of deceased journalist
Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao supported the family of Journalist Prasanna Kumar, who was killed in a car accident on April 26 on State Highway 1 at Kodakandla village in Siddipet district, by donating Rs 5 lakh cash at his residence in Hyderabad on Monday. The Minister handed over the cash amount to Prasanna Kumar’s wife Bhagyalaxmi and mother who thanked him for the support.

The Minister handed over the cash amount to Prasanna Kumar’s wife Bhagyalaxmi and mother who thanked him for the support.
Earlier, the Minister also announced Rs 5 lakh ex gratia for the kin of the journalist and a government job. Recently, the government of Telangana honoured Prasanna Kumar by conferring the best journalist award posthumous on him along with a cash prize of Rs 50,000 for his services on the fourth Telangana Formation Day. Prasanna Kumar was working for Telugu news channel in Medak district.
