Dabeerpura: The Archaeological Department along with GHMC Officials demolished the illegal constructions and encroachments on the land beside Dabeerpura Darwaza on Tuesday.

The Dabeerpura Darwaza, which is the oldest door of Hyderabad, is one of the thirteen original gateways built during the Nizam's rule served as an entrance to the Purani Haveli.

Shops of old scrap, stove repair, timber wood shop and an illegal pan shop on other side of door was demolished by Archaeological Department.

With JCB machines the works of demolition would be completed on the same day, said B Narayan, deputy director of Archaeological Department.

Rajender Kumar Yadav, ACP GHMC, Momin Ali supervisor GHMC, Zubaida Begum MRO Charminar, Dabeerpura Police Station staff, were present.
