Sangareddy: As the term of incumbent sarpanches of gram panchayats in the state is going to end on July 31, the State Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Minister Jupally Krishna Rao on Thursday ordered the district Collectors to make all the necessary arrangement by appointing Special Officers for the administration of gram Panchayats without any hindrances.

The Minister, who held a state wide video conference from Nagar Karnool with the Collectors, stated that the local body elections including GPs in the state might be delayed due to the stay order of the High Court and the administration of the gram panchayats should be carried out as usual without any issues as the term of current sarpanches will end by the end of this month. As the formation of new Gram Panchayats will start from August 1, the collectors were directed to make arrangements for GP office building, registers, staff, patron, stationery and other arrangements in advance. The village secretaries should be allotted GPs on the basis of village population to make sure all the GPs are covered including Special Officers within three days.

The Minister also issued orders to District Panchayat Officials and DRDOs to arrange sufficient nurseries in the villages according to the requirement to supply saplings for the plantation of fourth phase of Haritha Haram project with a target of 100 crore plants for the year 2018-19. The video conference was attended by Sangareddy Collector V Venkateshwarlu, JC Nikhila and APD Madhavi and others.
