Malakpet: Naseem Banu, who was stuck up in Saudi Arabia for the past 5 years was rescued after much persuasion by Indian Embassy in Riyadh. She will be returning on July 23 with three-year pending salary being paid.

According to MBT leader, Amjedullah Khan who pursued her matter, Naseem, a resident of Wadi-e-Huda, Jalpally. was offered a job as a ‘khadima’ by a local agent Dr Jameel Ahmed and Mumbai agent Ahmed Ali Khan.

She was promised that she would be paid Rs 15,000 per month. She went to Saudi Arabia on February 1, 2013 to work as khadima with Kafeel Hamood at a palace.

For the past five years she was not being allowed to come back to India. She was paid in the beginning for five months and since then she was not being paid.

“She was not allowed to speak to her family in India also. She used to call once in two-three months only. She was asked to work in different houses belonging to Kafeel’s family,” informed Amjedullah

Unable to bear the pain, she tried to run away twice but the local police handed her back to the Kafeel. She was beaten up very badly for the escaping act after she was taken back home.

A false theft case was foisted against Naseem and was put up in a Jail for six days. She was also forced to sign papers unknown to her. “Her mother Rafia Banu along with her two daughters approached me on February 22 for necessary help to rescue Naseem.

We took up her case and wrote to Sushma Swaraj, Minister for External Affairs (Govt of India) and the Indian Embassy in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia took her case and after much persuasion her Kafeel agreed to release her. Naseem will be arriving on July 23,” added the MBT leader.
