TPCC member supports electricity department workers’ stir

Narayanakhed: Contract artisans employed with the Electricity department on Saturday staged a demonstration demanding settlement of their long pending demands. TPCC member and Narayanakhed Assembly constituency unit of the party in-charge Dr P Sanjeeva Reddy expressed solidarity with the cause of the agitating contract workers.

Addressing the demonstrators, he appealed to the government for extending minimum wages to them and also job security. In case of death of an employee in the course of employment due to accident, the bereaved family should be paid at least Rs 10 lakh as compensation. He demanded extension of benefit to the workers under the rule equal pay for equal work.
