Plea to continue recognition to Hindi courses

Basheerbagh: The Hindi Prachar Sabha, Hyderabad, and several Hindi organisations on Thursday appealed to the Centre to continue recognition to Hindi courses, which have been scrapped by the Telangana Education department officials.
Rashtra Bhashas Samiti president and Latur MP Dr Sunil Gaikwad, Sabha president Prof Chandradev Bhagvanth Rao Kavade, general secretary Prof Suresh Puri, treasurer J Premkumar, secretary Sriramulu, Hindi Seva Sadan founder S Gaibuvali, Maharashtra Hindi Prachar Sabha secretary Dr Narayan Wakale, made the appeal to Union HRD Minister Prakash Javdekar, after submitting a memorandum to him in New Delhi.
In a statement here, the leaders said the then Andhra Pradesh government on July 22, 1970 had given permanent recognition to the Hindi Vidwan exam conducted by the Prachar Sabha. They pointed out that since then the Hindi Vidyalaya appointments were continuing. But the Telangana government in a GO on October 10 last added the word supersession in the appointments, doing harm to Hindi candidates. The leaders stated that Javdekar, while responding positively, had assured to take steps for continuing permanent recognition to the Hindi Vidwan courses.
