Himayatnagar: The State committee of Telangana Fishermen’s Association on Monday accused the TRS government of ‘totally failing’ in solving the problems faced by the community in the last four years. General secretary T Venkatramulu levelled the allegations while addressing the committee meeting in its office here. President Pendyala Ilayya was in the chair.

Venkatramulu contended that the government had taken up only publicity spending crores, without doing anything for the benefit of fishermen. He called upon the community members who were languishing in poverty to unitedly agitate for getting their problems solved.

State general secretary Dhiti Narsayya demanded constitution of village-level fishermen’s cooperative societies, with eligible persons as members, for allotting tanks and allotment of implements/vehicles to every member. He said the community should get ready for the State mahasabha in the first week of October after holding the district conferences in September.

Among those present at the meeting were BC Rights Committee State general secretary Rayabandi Pandurangam, association leaders Y Vanesh, K Vijeyudu, Esaboyina Srinivas, Chamakuri Narayana, Sivasankar, Dumpala Somayya, Shivayya, Anjaneyulu, Anita, Pidugu Prasad, Annamaina Venkatesh.
