Sangareddy: Chief Secretary SK Joshi called upon district Collectors to submit a report on the extent of saplings planted in Haritha Haram programme and the progress in geo-tagging them.

Reviewing the progress on Tuesday through video conference from state capital, the Chief Secretary asked the Collectors to step up the planting of saplings and their geo-tagging.

Principal Secretary Health Santa Kumari asked the Collectors to appoint Medical officers locally on a temporary basis if the teams allotted to various districts to implement the Kantivelugu programme from August 15 are inadequate. She asked the medical and health department to appoint optometrists by August 1 and train them before deploying them in the field.

She laid emphasis on preparing route maps at the PHC level. She appealed for sensitizing the people on Kantivelugu programme.

State Chief Electoral Officer Dr Rajat Kumar asked the authorities to make preparatory arrangements – preparation of voters’ list, identifying polling stations, registering names of physically challenged in the list of voters and so on --for the general elections to be held in 2019.

The final voters’ list should be ready by November 4. Medical and health director Karuna, CEO of Arogyasri Manikyaraj Kannan, Sangareddy Joint Collector Nikhila, DM&HO Rathod and others took part in the video conference.
