Hyderabad: The Congress party has strongly condemned the statement of AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi wherein he criticised AICC President Rahul Gandhi for hugging Prime Minister Narender Modi during the debate on 'No Confidence Motion'.

"With his action, Rahul Gandhi had given a very positive message that we must love a person even if he hates you. But BJP and MIM, who are acting as ambassadors of hate, could not digest Rahul Gandhi's gesture of love was welcomed by the entire country.

Therefore, they are attacking the Congress president even for a good act," Greater Hyderabad Congress Committee (GHCC) Minorities Deparment chairman Shaik Abdullah Sohail said on Tuesday.

Sohail stated that spreading hatred was against the teachings of Islam. Through his provocative speeches, Asaduddin Owaisi is only spreading hatred among different communities.

"MIM chief is clearly acting at the behest of BJP chief Amit Shah and PM Modi. He is implementing the RSS agenda of keeping Muslim community distracted from real issues," he said.

"If Asaduddin Owaisi is really against the BJP, then he should break his ties with TRS. While Congress voted against Modi Govt in 'No Confidence Motion', TRS supported BJP by abstaining from voting.

Why the MIM Chief is acting blind to the close friendship between Modi and KCR? True Muslims always speak truth even if it cost them their lives,” he added.

“If Asaduddin Owaisi is a true Muslim, then he must also speak on BJP-TRS ties. He should also speak on the failures of TRS Govt in implementing the promises made with the Muslim community.

MIM should hold protest against KCR for not implementing promised 12% reservation," Sohail demanded and alleged that Asaduddin Owaisi was displaying his religion only through his looks and not by actions.
