Medak: Protesting against the acute water crisis, women of the Nizampet colony on Tuesday staged a rasta rook displaying empty pitchers and obstructed movement of the vehicular traffic on the road near Nizampet for over an hour.

Residents of Dalit Colony in Nizampet of Medak district have been encountering acute drinking water crisis during the rainy season. The gamut of the problem can be imagined at the height of the summer.

They charged the officials and government with paying no attention to their problems. They demanded the government to provide drinking water to their colony by completing the Mission Bhagiradha project, which remained inconclusive.
The police intervened and pacified the demonstrating women and eased the traffic.
