Corporator Pannala distributes jute bags

Kukatpally: Balajinagar Corporator Pannala Kavya Reddy on Thursday distributed free jute bags to those who came to the spot near Madhusudhan Hospital for purchasing vegetables. She advised them not to use plastic covers and carry jute bags in their place. Addressing the gathering, she laid stress on protecting the environment by lessening the use of plastic materials, while noting that they take years to get submerged in soil.

Reddy pointed out that during the Kerala floods plastic material was found washed ashore in various water bodies. She warned that if use of plastic was not reduced the earth itself may disappear and only plastic would be visible. This would lead to environmental changes, as noted by scientists. Reddy advised people to cut down on the use of plastic material for ensuring a healthy life to future generations.
