Punjab official lauds paddy procurement

Siddipet: Paddy procurement and public distribution system is going smoothly in Telangana State, said Anindita Mitra, director for Punjab Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs.Mitra is on a two-day visit to study paddy procurement and public distribution system in Telangana State.

On Thursday, she visited PPC and godowns at Gajwel in Siddipet District. She also visited Food Processing (FP) Shop in Gajwel to check the functioning of Electronic Point of Sale (ePOS) system. Later, she visited the Command Control Centre (CCC) at Civil Supplies Bhavan in Hyderabad and checked functioning of T-Ration app.

Mitra said that purchasing paddy directly from farmers at Minimum Support Price (MSP) without any involvement of middlemen is appreciable. In the system, farmers will be assured to get their amount directly into their accounts without any hassles. 

Eligible beneficiaries will be able to get ration commodities if continuous check on the movement of transport vehicles was monitored with the help of Command Control Centers and GPS tracking system, and distribution is tracked through biometric system.
