Darussalaam: Celebrating the victory of MIM, which retained all the seven seats in the Assembly elections, the party organised a grand public meeting (Jalsa-e-Jashn) at its headquarters in Darussalam on Wednesday night. MIM president Asaduddin Owaisi, MLA-electAkbaruddin Owaisi, Hamid Mohammed Khan, state president, Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, Maulana Qubool Pasha Shuttari, Majlis-e-Ulema-e-Deccan secretary-general and Muslim Personal Law Board member, MoulanaRaheemuddin Ansari, chairman, Urdu Academy and several other Islamic scholars and MLAs and party members were present on this occasion.

Addressing the huge gathering, Akbaruddin expressed gratitude to the God almighty and thanked the voters who had once again shown their allegiance to the MIM. “Ever since the party was founded, it is continuously striving for the welfare of Muslims. In this endeavour we have come with better amenities in the form of educational institutes and health centres in the name of Salar (Salahuddin Owaisi). 11 schools are running now, where thousands of students study. Besides this, as part of women empowerment scores of institutions were constituted in these constituencies on our own expenses,” he claimed. “The party is never boastful of the strength, but good work done by usreflects the influence we command over the masses. Since the public rested faith in us, I became the MLA for the 5th time and will continue to strive for welfare of people,” said Akbar.

While referring to the earlier alliances similar to Mahakutami in the State, he said that each time Mahakutami stood against the MIM, they failed to garner people’s support. Even in this election, the Mahakutami failed to claim even a single seat from this part of the city. Terming the BJP as the anti-Muslim party, he said that the national party remained focused on Muslim bashing and targeting issues of concern like Muslim Personal Law in its five years of power, while ignoring the issues of national concern like poor economic situation, corruption. “The party never played politics in the name of religion and never asked for vote in the name of religion, but it raised voice against the injustice done to the Muslim community over 70 years following Independence.

We dream about the development and prosperity of India, where all religious groups are treated like equal citizens. We are only raising voice and fighting or our rights and shall continue to fight for our rights,” he asserted. Later, MLAs-elect Syed Ahmed Pasha Quadri (Yakutpura), Mumtaz Ahmed Khan (Charminar) and others thanked the party president and voters who supported them in winning he elections with majority.
