A breathtaking performance in Hyderabad

Students of Sumadhura Arts Academy, a Kuchipudi school in Hyderabad, enthralled the audience with their mesmerising performance in a dance play titled ‘Breathe’.

The dance play is conceptualised by Sravya Manasa, who runs the academy. First performed at Nritya Forum for Performing Arts, Banjara Hills, in August, it was performed again on December 15 on request by the public. The play takes the audience on a ride of the emotions of an unborn girl child feeling unwanted and unloved by her father who wants her aborted. The girls as young as five also set major performance goals for art lovers. Sravya Manasa now aims to take the performance to government schools and colleges to spread the awareness amongst the future generation about the crime and hopes to set an example on the contribution and worth of women in our society.
