Illegal structures razed at Langer Houz

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Revenue Administration demolished unauthorised constructions including 15 houses and some cattle sheds at Langer Houz tank bed on Wednesday.

The drive was held from 6 am to 3 pm. Although there was stiff resistance from the locals, a large number of policemen deployed well in advance prevented any untoward incident. MIM MLA Afsar Khan and former corporator Ravi Yadav tried to come to the rescue of the locals, but they could not do anything owing to court orders.

Revenue authorities informed that they undertook this drive only after repeated notices given to occupants to vacate the land went unnoticed. This issue was in court from 2003.
