StudentsHyderabad: Students from Andhra Pradesh have excelled in JEE -Mains as well by bagging a majority of ranks, including all India 1st , 2nd , 3rd , 4th , 5th and 6th . The CBSE released the ranks on Tuesday night. Y Anil Kumar topped the list with a spectacular performance, getting more than 93% after normalization. He was followed by K Suma, the topper among girls- and N Ravi Teja, P K Sharma, P Akhil and P Sai Sandeep Reddy who secured 2nd , 3rd ,4th ,5th and 6th ranks. Pathak Anand bagged the ninth rank. All these students were coached by Srichaitanya-Narayana (CHINA) group. According to a press release from the group, 11 of its students figure in the top 20 ranks at the national level. "Our students secured 67 ranks below 100. Our total all India ranks in respect of all categories are more than 34,000 in B Tech stream and 14,000 odd in B Arch," the group stated. The ranks are necessary for admission to first year B Tech courses in NITs, CFTIs, IIITs, IIITMs and IIITDMs. The ranks take into account 60% marks of JEE Mains entrance examination and 40% weightage of marks obtained at qualifying exam i.e. Intermediate or Plus Two. CBSE has released the ranks after a huge exercise of normalization of marks of all boards, though the method was criticized as unscientific, considering differing syllabi in institutions across the country. The Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) was overseen by NIT, Rourkela, this year. The rankers should register their applications by July 5. Choices can be filled between July 6 and 8 and they should lock their choices by 5-00 pm on July 8. The first round of seat allocations will be done on July 9. Students have to report to their respective institutions between July 22 and July 26.
