Hyderabad: The police on Wednesday foiled the attempt by members of Osmania University Joint Action Committee (OUJAC) to join the 'sadak bandh' by blocking them at NCC Gate. The police arrested four students including OUJAC leader Pidamarti Ravi when they tried to cross the barricades near the gate.A A spokesperson of the OUJAC Krishank condemned the police 'high-handedness' and demanded the immediate release of those arrested during the bandh in Mahbubnagar district. In a related development, Telangana Vidyarti Parishad (TGVP) took out a rally on the campus grounds in support of the bandh. They condemned the arrest of Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) leaders. K Anjaneyulu of TGVP charged at the government saying that they are trying to suppress the agitation by using the police force. Students burnt an effigy of Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy to protest against the arrests.
