Hyderabad: A notorious seven-member burglary gang, including history-sheeters, who were wanted in several cases of robbery, property offences, arms act, NDPS act including the shocking burglary and a murder that took place in Seetharambagh on Sunday, was nabbed by the West Zone police in a combined operation with the CCS police on Tuesday.
At a press conference, City Police Commissioner Anurag Sharma along with Amit Garg, Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic Branch) and Sandeep Shandilya, Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime and SIT), produced Thakur Ramesh Kumar, Md Ahmed, Karla Srinivas, D Suryanath, C Shravana Kumar, D Raghu and G Raghavender.
According to police, one accused Karla Srinivas, working with complainant one K Yellamma as driver since nine years, took a loan of Rs 8 lakh. He hatched a plan to commit theft and contacted the other accused persons. On Sunday, the accused persons went to complainant’s house, posing as cable repair boys they strangled K Shiva Kumar, complainant’s grandson and broke open the almirahs and fled away with gold and money. With the help of CCTV footages, the accused persons were detected within 32 hours. The police recovered 80 tolas of gold, 78 tolas silver and Rs 5 lakh in cash.
