BJP slams Kiran for neglecting BCs

Hyderabad: Ensuring introduction of BC sub-plan besides statutory status for it are our immediate goals, BJP State chief G Kishan Reddy said here on Tuesday. The saffron party would undertake series of programmes at mandal, constituency and district level in the coming months for this purpose, he said. ­Kishan Reddy was addressing the media after ending his hunger strike at 2 pm on Tuesday.

BJP leaders Kishan Reddy, Endala Lakshminarayana and Dr K Laxman launched their Maha Deeksha for BC sub-plan on Monday. BJP senior leader Bandaru Dattatreya and BC leader R Krishnaiah offered lemon juice to the fasting leaders. Addressing the gathering later, Kishan Reddy lashed out at Kiran Kumar Reddy led Congress government for neglecting backward sections in the State. Census exercise for identifying BC population was taken up by the Congress government only after continuous pressure exerted by the saffron party, he said.

BJP senior leader Bandaru Dattatreya laid emphasis on a separate sub-plan for backward classes to ensure artisans and other backward sections reap benefits of various government schemes. Meanwhile, BC leader R Krishnaiah, extending full support to the saffron party called upon voters to elect BJP in order to get their due share in employment, jobs and other sectors including politics.
