Year-long programmes to mark Kaloji’s birth centenary fete

Hyderabad: The Kaloji Birth Centenary Celebrations Committee will organise a year-long celebrations for passing on the legacy of the legendary poet, short-story writer, philosopher and freedom fighter, Kaloji Narayana Rao, to the younger generations of Telangana.

Addressing the media on Friday, S Jeevan Kumar, Convener, Kaloji Birth Centenary Celebrations Committee, informed that the celebrations would be inaugurated by Justice B Sudharshan Reddy on September 9, marking the 99th birth anniversary of the legendary poet, in Hanamkonda.

The inaugural event would be followed by various events which would be held every month in Hyderabad, like meeting of poets, poetry recitals, photo exhibitions, launch of website, presentation of plays, release of documentary and literary translations, release of Kaloji’s complete literary works.

B Narsing Rao, film-maker/actor and Chairperson, Kaloji Birth Centenary Celebrations Committee, reiterated that Kaloji was a poet of international fame with many literary works in Marathi, English, Urdu and Hindi.
