Seemandhra lecturers’ strike from Sept 17

More than 7,000 lecturers working in government degree colleges in 13 Seemandhra districts have decided to join the ongoing Seemandhra agitation against the bifurcation of the State. They would go on indefinite strike from the midnight of September 16.

Hyderabad: More than 7,000 lecturers working in government degree colleges in 13 Seemandhra districts have decided to join the ongoing Seemandhra agitation against the bifurcation of the State. They would go on indefinite strike from the midnight of September 16. “A total of 5,000 degree college lecturers and 2,000 lecturers working in aided colleges would participate in the strike. It would also include 120 Principals and many librarians, lab assistants and other office staff,” Shivashankar, General Secretary of Samaikyandhra Lecturers’ JAC told The Hans India. The private college lecturers too have decided to join the strike but not indefinite.
