Hyderabad: Madiga Reservation Porata Samiti (MRPS) Chief Manda Krishna Madiga, who staged a dharna at Indira Park on Thursday, demanding the agitating organisations to exempt government schools and APSRTC from taking part in the Samaikyandhra agitation, laid out his two-fold plan; on one side taking the Telangana movement forward and on the other, proving that Samaikyandhra movement is not as strong as it is being portrayed in the media.
Addressing the media while fasting, he came down heavily on the Seemandhra Congress leadership for their hypocrisy, as they and their families were eating three meals a day, while the poor people who depend on the white ration cards were not able to get essential provisions due to the Samaikyandhra Samme, as the ration shops were closed. He said that the weaker sections in Rayalaseema and Andhra regions depend on government schools for education and state transportation for travelling.
“Because of the Samme, it is the weaker sections who have been suffering,” he said.
He said that he would hold a round-table meeting with leaders of all political parties on September 15, at MRPS office, to address the problems being faced by the weaker sections, due to the Samme. In an effort to oppose any plans of granting Union Territory status to Hyderabad, he said that he would mobilise one lakh students at Osmania University on September 21 in the name of ‘OU Yuddha Bheri’. He warned the Congress party leadership that if Hyderabad was taken out of Telangana, Congress party would be rooted out of Telangana.
