Senior T mantris give a miss to Kiran’s dinner
The efforts made by Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy to hold a conciliatory meeting with ministers from Telangana and Seemandhra region did not fructify as many important ministers including Deputy Chief Minister D Rajanarasimha, Minister for Panchayat Raj K Jana Reddy and some others were conspicuous by their absence.

Hyderabad: The efforts made by Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy to hold a conciliatory meeting with ministers from Telangana and Seemandhra region did not fructify as many important ministers including Deputy Chief Minister D Rajanarasimha, Minister for Panchayat Raj K Jana Reddy and some others were conspicuous by their absence.
The Chief Minister wanted to talk to the ministers from all the regions before they went to Grand Kakatiya where a dinner in honor of YV Reddy, Chairman of 14th Finance Commission, was hosted by him. Other prominent ministers who skipped the dinner meeting were Ponnala Lakshmaiah, R Venkat Reddy and Danam Nagender.
According to sources, as many as 26 ministers including eight from the Telangana region- J Geeta Reddy, D K Aruna, V Sunita Lakshma Reddy, N Uttam Kumar Reddy, P Sudarshan Reddy, B Saraiah, D Sridhar Babu, M Mukesh Goud and Ganta Srinivasa Rao, TG Venkatesh,S Vijaya Rama Raju and G Aruna Kumari of Seemandhra were present.
According to one of the ministers, Kiran greeted all of them saying "It has been a long time since we all met. Let's not get into politics now". The sources said neither Telangana issue nor prevailing strike situation in the Seemandhra region came up for discussion. The meeting was purely apolitical, ministers V Sunita Lakshma Reddy and Kanna Lakshminarayana said.

Cabinet meet on September 20
Hyderabad: The State Cabinet will meet on September 20. The meeting assumes importance since it will be the first meeting of the Cabinet after the Congress Working Committee decided to bifurcate the State. It is learnt that the issue of the ongoing agitation in the Seemandhra region and the proposed cabinet note on separate Telangana may figure at the meeting. Meanwhile, Seemandhra ministers and MLAs continue to hold informal meetings and have resolved to see that the T resolution is defeated when introduced in the Assembly.
