Weaker sections across State urged to unite

Hyderabad: With political leaders indulging in inflammatory speeches, the Golla-Kuruma (Yadavs) community of the State took up the task of unifying the weaker sections and protecting the interests of the BCs, SCs and STs from Telangana, Andhra and Rayalaseema living in Hyderabad.

Golla Kuruma Hakkula Porata Samiti (GKHPS) on Saturday organised a meeting at Sundarayya Vignana Kendram in Hyderabad where Prof Kancha Ilaiah, writer Krishna Yadav, Former MP Gangadhar Yadav, Social Justice Forum convener Kyama Mallesh, DCC president (RR) Gosula Srinivas Yadav, GKHPS state president and several social activists and people of weaker sections from across AP participated.

Addressing the gathering, Kancha Ilaiah said that Hyderabad should be declared as a separate State as the city deserved that status. He said that regional parties like TDP and TRS, which are headed by leaders from the forward sections, were responsible for the current political crisis.

He said that forward sections knew very well how to manipulate the weaker sections to fulfill their political and selfish goals. He also came down heavily on YSRCP leader Sharmila and Telangana Jagruti president Kavita for their double standards. He demanded that educational institutions be exempted from bandhs, as the children of weaker sections were being affected.

Eashwaramma Yadav, a leader from Yadav community, raised questions on leaders from weaker sections for failing to live up to the expectations of their communities. She questioned why the people belonging to weaker sections were selling their integrity and following political leaders of forward sections just for the sake of money and liquor during elections.

Eashwaramma said that it is more important for the weaker sections to remain united than Telangana state is formed or not. Srinivas Yadav said that Doddi Komraiah’s statue will be erected at Tank Bund, right beside Dr BR Ambedkar’s statue soon.
