Lambast Naidu for alleging deal behind the bail

Hyderabad: Exulting in joy following the grant of bail to their leader YS Jaganmohan Reddy, the YSR Congress Party leaders said they would step up the struggle to keep the state united in a more focused and intense way. DA Somayajulu, advisor to the party, said: “We have taken a stand to support the united Andhra Pradesh cause. Lakhs of people have been on roads against the Congress-led UPA’s decision to bifurcate the State. YSRCP continues to be by the side of the people and very soon, Jagan would decide the course of action to take up the cause vigorously”

Stating that there is neither the government nor the opposition party in the state, Somayajulu criticized both the Congress and the TDP for “throwing the people to their fate and taking the state to a disaster.” Jagan’s exit from jail at this juncture is very much needed for the State.

Bhooma Nagireddy expressed similar sentiments saying that they hope that Jagan would bail out the State from this crisis. “We strongly hope he would fight for the unified state and we will impress upon him with the ground situation” he said. Somayajulu expressed happiness over the ruling saying that at last justice has been done. “Jagan was falsely implicated and has been in jail for over 16 months. We fought the vindictive attitude in the courts and ultimately justice has prevailed” he said. ”The TDP has been saying that Jagan has amassed a wealth of Rs 1 lakh crores. After some time, the figure has come down to 43,000 crore and now, in the CBI charge-sheets, it was mentioned that Rs 1,200 crore.

This amount was originally shown as investments by Jagan in 2009 itself and the names of Pratap Reddy of Penna Cements, Nimmagadda Prasad and Bharati Cements etc were also mentioned by him. So, there is absolutely nothing new. Jagan has neither amassed wealth disproportionate to his source of income nor there be any quid pro quo as alleged by all” he explained.

It was Supreme Court’s direction which worked well, Ambati Rambabu, the chief spokesman of the party said. “The apex court has directed the CBI to complete the probe by September 9. The CBI has continued to file charge-sheets even after that. Whatever may be their game plan, we trusted the court and got justice” he pointed out. Mareppa, former Minister said Jagan would sweep the polls. YSRCP leaders reacted strongly over Chandrababu Naidu’s comments that there was match-fixing between the Congress and YSRCP resulting in granting of bail to Jagan.

Three leaders, Shobha Nagireddy, Konatala Ramakrishna and Kodali Nani lambasted Chandrababu that he lobbied hard to prevent bail to Jagan by camping in Delhi for the past two days. “Babu has lost mental balance. Jagan won the election from Kadapa with over five lakh victory margin. He steered 16 MLAs to post win even after being jailed. This means people were with him. He would take the party to victory without going into tie up with any party in 2014” Kodali Nani remarked.

Konathala Ramakrishna said Jagan would have got bail well before March but for the match-fixing of Congress and TDP. “We have not bowed our head before Sonia Gandhi for bail at any time. Jagan feared none. We are for legal battle. If Chandrababu has guts, he should voluntarily come forward and seek CBI probe into several irregularities during his time including Eleru scam and IMG Golf Course issue” he challenged.

Shobha Nagi Reddy found fault with Chandrababu for his comments saying that Chandrababu is afraid of facing Jagan politically. “For 16 months he was in jail and faced many a ordeal. He was falsely implicated in the case with TDP’s active pursuance. It is not fair for Chandrababu who has been in public life for 35 years to say that there is a deal behind the bail,” she said.
