Telangana Information Technology Association (TITA) has celebrated Bathukamma (MahaGauri Devi) festival in a grandeur atmosphere near Shilparamam. Large numbers of IT professionals along with their families have participated in this event to celebrate the festival.
Telangana Information Technology Association (TITA) has celebrated Bathukamma (MahaGauri Devi) festival in a grandeur atmosphere near Shilparamam. Large numbers of IT professionals along with their families have participated in this event to celebrate the festival.
The occasion flourished with women and children dressed in colorful traditional attire and dancing to the melodies of Bathukamma. Prizes were distributed to the best Bathukamma and the event was followed by Dandia program in the evening.
?Bathukamma festival is celebrated during the BhadrapadaAmavasya and is celebrated for nine days indicating the beginning of SarathRuthu.
The cultural spirit of Telangana is represented by Bathukamma,It is an arrangement of colorful seasonal flowers with medicinal values stacked usually in seven concentric layers in a conical mound. MahaGauridevi is worshipped in the form of Bathukamma during this festival.
During the combined state of Andhra Pradesh, this festival was not given due consideration by the government and was not popularized.
TITA applauds the Telangana government for recognizing Bathukammaas the Telangana state festival and encouraging the denizens to participate in large numbers in this cultural event.? said TITA Founder & President Sundeep Kumar Makthala.
