Mr. Mahmood Ali,Dy. CM of Telangana gets the additional responsibility of Minorities Welfare Dept

Mr. Mahmood Ali, Dy. CM of Telangana who is already holding the portfolio of Revenue Dept. has now been given the additional responsibility of the Deptof Minorities Welfare. Hitherto, this portfolio was with the CM. This arrangement has been made in view of the ensuing budget session. Mr. Mahmood Ali will reply in the Assembly to the questions pertaining to the Dept. of Minorities Welfare. So far, Mr. Mahmood Ali was looking after the affairs of this Dept.

on the advice of the CM. Mr. Mr. Mahmood Ali held meeting with the officials of the Dept. in connection with the preparation of budget. He also made a representation to Finance Minister, Mr. Rajender for the release of necessary budget to enable the Govt. to reach the target of issuing grants to 20, 000 poor girls for their marriages during the current financial year.

When he contacted the officials of Minorities Finance Corporation, they told him that after the bifurcation of the state, budget has been stopped. It is therefore not possible to issue subsidies as a result of which banks are not sanctioning loans. Mr. Mahmood Ali assured that he would talk to Chief Secretary to issue instructions to release the funds.

Govt. had promised to release the budget of Rs. 2 crore for Hajj committee which has not been done so far. The contractors, who made arrangements for Hajj pilgrims, are making rounds of the Hajj House for getting their bills cleared. It is expected that Govt. of will take important decisions before commencement of Assembly Session to avoid any criticism from the opposition.
