As part of a series of events organised by Art@Telangana, a non-profitable trust, few selected paintings of well known artists of Telangana are being exhibited at Falaknuma Palace. The exhibition was inaugurated on Friday by Princess Esra.

The paintings are on display inside the renovated Coronation Hall at Falaknuma palace. Art critic Anand Gadapa walked the Princess through the show. A short film by Ajit Nag, a young film maker, was screened and received praise from the Princess.

BV Papa Rao, advisor to the Government of Telangana along with the trust members of Art@Telangana; eminent filmmaker B Narsinga Rao; Niranjan Reddy; Vaidehi Reddy and well-known artist Aelay Laxman presented the recently published book ‘art@telangana’, comprising artworks of about 150 artists and one hundred years of history.

Most of the artists in the book are products of School of Fine arts & Crafts, which is presently known as Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture and Fine Arts University, which was established by the erstwhile Nizams in the 1940s.

The show will continue till November 22.
