Skyscrapers around Hussain Sagar created a buzz amongst people as well as the activists from the moment the plan was announced by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.
Skyscrapers around Hussain Sagar created a buzz amongst people as well as the activists from the moment the plan was announced by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao. Most NGOs voiced their opinions against the move, stating that the project would harm the integrity of the lake. However, the Chief Minister constituted seven teams from the revenue department to survey the lands around the lake.

Sources in the revenue department stated that the survey teams have identified three places around the lake and it is believed that the first phase of the construction is slated to commence at Patigadda, Nursing College and the area near Raghava Towers.

In a review meeting held with the Chief Minister, revenue department officials informed him of these places. The Chief Minister, who has reportedly given a go-ahead, suggested the vast land at Sanjeevaiah Park as a possible place.
“These places were suggested keeping in view the Supreme Court’s ruling. They do come outside the Sikham Patta limits and offer a fantastic view of the Hussain Sagar,” informed a senior official with the revenue department.
170 acres or 110 acres?
Looks like the officials have lost consensus regarding the identified land. Either that or they have been giving random figures. While the members of the survey teams refused to comment on the area identified, others have been giving mixed messages regarding the land identified.
While a section stated that 170 acres were identified and the team are hopeful of finding 30 acres more to round it off to 200 acres, the other say that only 110 acres have been identified as of Monday and the teams are hopeful of identifying 20 more acres.
