Wells Fargo and Berkadia organised the inaugural Commercial Real Estate (CRE) symposium in Hyderabad recently and brought together industry leaders from the US CRE sector. The symposium provided an opportunity for representatives from top-ranked servicers, financial institutions, prominent international corporations, rating agencies, trade associations and law firms to discuss the current political and economic US CRE environment. The attendees unanimously agreed that growth opportunities are strong for Indian Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) and Knowledge Process Outsourcing (KPO) companies supporting the US CRE origination, securitisation and servicing organisations.

More than 900 participants attended the two-day event, where they gained insight into the US CRE markets, servicing opportunities and the state of the Commercial Mortgage Backed Securities (CMBS) industry and discussed important legislative and regulatory developments and career advice. Prominent educational institutions also attended the conference to help better understand the breadth and depth of the US CRE sector.

"In the US, commercial real estate professionals have opportunities to work together and build long-term relationships through working groups, committees, conferences and best practice development. The CRE conference in Hyderabad brought a maturing, vibrant and growing industry to young Indian professionals so that they could enjoy the same opportunities," said Dan Bober, executive vice president of Wells Fargo Commercial Mortgage Servicing.

Morningstar Credit Ratings LLC, Bryan Cave LLP and Dilworth Paxon LLP also sponsored the event. Other prominent participants included Jefferies & Company, Prudential Asset Resources, Inc., GEMSA Loan Services, Moody's Investor Service, Standard & Poors, Genpact, Cassin & Cassin, CRE Finance Council (CREFC), and the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA). In addition to Wells Fargo and Berkadia, attendees represented many leading BPO and KPO operations.
