RTA drive against illegal cab operators

The Transport Department on Wednesday launched a special drive to check unregistered cabs operating in Hyderabad and Cyberabad police limits. A team of RTA officials led by Joint Transport Commissioner of Hyderabad T Raghunath conducted checks at Jubilee Hills Check Post, Shamshabad Aiprot, PV Narasimha Rao Expressway and Nehru ORR.
Hyderabad: The Transport Department on Wednesday launched a special drive to check unregistered cabs operating in Hyderabad and Cyberabad police limits. A team of RTA officials led by Joint Transport Commissioner of Hyderabad T Raghunath conducted checks at Jubilee Hills Check Post, Shamshabad Aiprot, PV Narasimha Rao Expressway and Nehru ORR.
In the first few hours, the RTA officials registered 11 cases and seized four cabs. He requested the people not to engage any web-based cabs. The RTA authorities are also taking action against cab operators and drivers who are operating without permission or license.
