ALEAP @22 still committed to women empowerment

Association of Lady Entrepreneurs of Andhra Pradesh (ALEAP), a city-based women empowerment organisation, hosted its 22nd formation day celebrations on Thursday. Assistant commissioner of enforcement Mangala Deepthi was the chief guest at the event. Vanitha Datla, chairperson, Confederation of Indian Industry - Telangana (CII), and Kamala Devi, AGM, Syndicate Bank, were the guests of honour.
The event was a celebration of successful women entrepreneurs, innovators, and opportunity creators who bring ideas to life, drive economic growth, and expand women welfare. Success stories of women entrepreneurs supported and mentored by ALEAP were shared.
Speaking at the occasion, K Rama Devi, president, ALEAP, said, “This year the celebrations are more special to us as we have added another feather to our cap. In June this year, ALEAP was appointed by the textiles ministry to be the skills and training partner for Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Karnataka. Under this programme, ALEAP will train and foster 40,500 underprivileged women with employable skills and help them get employed.”
She also spoke about the skills development project launched in collaboration with the textiles ministry. “We launched the skills development programme titled ‘Vandemataram’ to align sikshana (training), sadhana (zeal for perfection), and samrudhi (self-reliance) to empower the underprivileged women. We are setting up our own centres of training, support, and facilitation,” she said.
Chief guest Mangala Deepthi praised the efforts made by the organisation in empowering women in the State. She also acknowledged the organisation’s efforts in giving women a fair opportunity by training, mentoring, and shaping bold and innovative women entrepreneurs.
Vanitha Datla appreciated the women-centric Vandemataram project and spoke about how CII and ALEAP can join hands to make more progress in more empowering women. Kamala Devi assured that Syndicate bank is keen to help women entrepreneurs and financial support to all ALEAP members.
