Around 70 Hyderabadis representing various startups including mentor and veteran technologist Ramesh Loganathan, who is the MD of Progress Software and President of HYSEA, are participating in the Jagriti Yatra 2015 which is India’s largest entrepreneurship drive. Jagriti Yatra is a 15-day long national entrepreneurship drive conducted through train journeys covering 8,000 kilometers across the length and breadth of India.

The drive aims to understand and build the India of smaller towns and villages through enterprises. The drive is being conducted over 12 destinations and hosts 500 selected yatris in the age group of 19-27. This year the yatra started from December 24 and will end on January 8. The selected yatris this year are a mix from 27 states and 15 different countries. They have been selected out of 17,000 applicants after multiple rounds of elimination.

Ramesh Loganathan has been an active startup mentor and has taken many initiatives for evolving the startup ecosystem. He has been invited as a facilitator and resource person at the Jagriti Yatra 2015 to conduct different sessions in the Business Gyan Tree (categories are named as trees at the Yatra). He is the only person from Hyderabad to be invited as the resource person for this yatra this year.

Joining the Yatra at the prestigious Nalanda University, Ramesh, said, “It is an honour to be a part of this prestigious yatra. The enthusiasm and excitement amongst the yatra is exhilarating. The unique format of this yatra brings together a large chunk of extremely dedicated and socially-conscious people onto a single platform and unites them towards the goal to build middle-India through innovation and enterprises.” Jagriti Yatra aims to nurture one lakh entrepreneurs by 2022 and create 10 lakh jobs in this process.
