Dr Rajaram, director of NIFT Hyderabad, and Dr Sharmila Nagaraj, owner of Kaumudi Studio, were the guests of honour.

The startup is a global networking hub and intends to bring artistes and professionals from fashion and creative domains from all over the world on one single platform. The aim of the organisation is to make it easier for artistes to get recognised for their work, help them find opportunities and stay successful in the industry.

Dr Rajaram, director, NIFT addressing the audience

“Technology innovation in fashion industry is the need of the hour and to leverage technology for market intelligence and content privacy is critical. 6Degree’s concept and vision certainly address these critical requisites and goes a step beyond,” Dr Rajaram said.

Dr Sharmila Nagaraj highlighted the issues of handicraft organisations and the need to showcase local art and artisans across India and other parts of the world. Himaja Kumar, assistant director of Weaver Service Centre, said “The organisation’s initiative of helping local weavers and showcasing their work on a global level will open up a world of opportunities for them.” Concluding the occasion, Amit Bhardwaj, one the co-founders, said "6Degree was envisioned to be one such community that would bind the various dimensions of the fashion and creative ecosystem.”
