Labour commissioner praises L&T personnel

Telangana labour commissioner Dr A Ashok was the chief guest at the safety valedictory function organised by the L&T recently at the Hyderabad Metro Rail Uppal depot along with VB Gadgil, chief executive and managing director, L&T Metro Rail (Hyderabad) Limited and C Sankaralingam, vice president and task force leader, Hyderabad Metro Rail Project, L&T Construction.

Dr Ashok applauded the workforce for their attentiveness in adhering to various safety instructions, practices, procedures and the safety parameters. He said that safety and health parameters are key performance indicators in the construction sector, considering the quantum of complexity involved in this project. He appreciated the role of the workforce and commended them for following the ‘safety first’ principles at site works. He made a special mention of the behavioural safety training and continuous development activities initiated by L&T.

Ashok also encouraged the efforts of the site team in conducting various medical health camps, a series of various mock drills on trauma, cardiac, electric shock, stress, Swine flu, anti-tobacco, air borne and water borne diseases, etc. He gave away prizes to the workforce in the categories of quiz competition, poster competition, slogan competition, essay competition, painting competition, best safety workforce etc.
