The 52nd National Roller Skating Championship was organised by Roller Skating Federation of India (RSFI) from January 21 to February 1 at Virar, Mumbai. 15 skaters from Telangana, who were rigorously trained at Yama Skating Academy, participated in the artistic category comprising of free style skating, figure skating, pair skating, pair dance skating, solo dance and inline free style skating.

At the 52nd National Roller Sports Championship, Telangana made an impressive debut by winning 9 gold, 2 silver and 11 bronze medals

The 52nd National Roller Skating Championship was organised by Roller Skating Federation of India (RSFI) from January 21 to February 1 at Virar, Mumbai. 15 skaters from Telangana, who were rigorously trained at Yama Skating Academy, participated in the artistic category comprising of free style skating, figure skating, pair skating, pair dance skating, solo dance and inline free style skating.

Telangana State’s maiden performance at the national championship was commendable with a total number of 9 gold medals, 2 silver medals and 11 bronze medals. Former world gold medallist Anup Kumar Yama’s performance was par excellence as he bagged 5 gold medals in the championship.

Anup stated that of all the championships, this was unique and special to him because he was representing a new State i.e Telangana and moreover he had several of his students participating in the event.
