Harithon Run to promote green initiatives

Plant 3 Protection Alliance (P3PA), an NGO, is organising the fifth edition of Harithon on Sunday at 7 am at People’s Plaza. The run aims at invoking a sense of responsibility towards protecting the environment and to promote eco-friendly ways for a better living. The 5k run would be organised up to PV Ghat, Jalavihar and would culminate at the Peoples Plaza.

Apart from the run, stalls at the venue will showcase eco-friendly and lifestyle products, e-waste and paper waste collection and green networking programmes and sale of organic t-shirts and green merchandise. There will also be performances by various rock bands, Zumba dance session, special selfie zones with exclusive selfie pods and fun games featuring 7 Stones, Maarampiti with soft ball, rope walk, gully football, tug-o-war and a picture quiz of famous monuments.

“In today’s modern world, mankind is suffering from many inconveniences due to pollution, wastage, unhygienic environment, etc. If it continues like this, it can cause a lot of threat to earth, which in turn will harm all the living beings including human beings. In order to break this chain, a group of students started an organisation called P3PA, to inculcate people with the importance of clean and green environment and save our planet,” said Sanjeev Ravadi, chairperson and inceptor, Harithon - The Green Run.
