Ensuring regular water supply is my priority
Thirty-year-old Hari Chandana Dasari took charge as the north zone zonal commissioner of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation’s (GHMC) recently. Hailing from the 2010 batch of the IAS, she had earlier worked as joint collector and additional district magistrate, Ranga Reddy district. She was also a sub-collector and joint collector of Vijayawada in Krishna district.

She completed her BA in economics and political sciences from St Ann’s College, Hyderabad, and MA in political sciences from Hyderabad University. She also pursued MSc from London School of Economics and Political Sciences. “My top priority is providing drinking and bore water facility to all the people.
We are chalking out a summer action plan to meet the water needs by supplying tankers to the areas of Quthbullapur, Alwal and Malkajgiri. Existing borewells, which have been spoilt, will be repaired or replaced. Health and sanitation is another priority which will be taken up on war footing.

We will ensure clean and neat environment by implementing the Swachh Bharath campaign,” said Chandana. Other development works such as laying roads, maintenance of parks and other civic needs will be taken up in a phased manner in consultation and coordination with the local public representatives and the residents.
