With exams round the corner, most students are busy revising the same. But that is not the case with the students of Lakshanika International School (LIS), Ibrahimbagh. The school is embroiled in a controversy over the lack of recognition and for allegedly asking students to deposit a sum of Rs 50,000 for hall tickets.

It is reported that the school is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). Though the school is not recognised by the SSC, a few students will be appearing for the SSC exams this year. The management has tied up with Sri Vidya Secondary School to represent their students

Controversy arose when a group of parents alleged that the school management is demanding Rs 50,000 for hall tickets, stating that the management of Sri Vidya School was demanding the sum. Parents say that they have no other option but to pay the same as exams were hardly days away.

Speaking to The Hans India, Anuradha Rao, president, Balala Hakkula Sangham (BHS), condemned the actions of the school management. “The students and parents brought this to the notice of BHS and in turn demanded the RR district DEO seeking swift action against the school,” Anuradha said. Ravi Kumar, CEO of the school, was irked when contacted about the issue and refused to answer.
