Miming and cultural programmes were presented by the students to mark the occasion. P Ummar Khan, founder chairman of the institute, was the chief guest. D Arumugam, principal, Degree College for the Deaf; J Anjaiah, commerce department head; B Madhu Kumar, principal, Junior College for the Deaf; K Shylaja, principal, School for the Deaf, were present at the event. Ummar Khan advised the students to prepare well for the forthcoming exams as it would decide their future life. He encouraged the students to improve their skills and knowledge and wished them luck.
