Tolichowki flyover to be opened soon
Works on the Tolichowki Flyover is complete and is likely be inaugurated by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao soon. GHMC Commissioner Somesh Kumar, along with other senior officials, inspected the flyover on Saturday. The Commissioner said that the total project cost of the flyover ran up to Rs. 38.41 crore. The flyover aims to ease traffic snarls from Mehdipatnam to Hitec City.

“The GHMC has overcome several hurdles in taking up this flyover. The construction of grade separator would reduce travel time from Mehdipatnam to Gachibowli and Hitec City and vice-versa,” said Somesh Kumar. The Commissioner added that the grade separator from Tolichowki to Gachibowli would be developed as an express highway.
This project was started on November 1, 2013, and faced many financial hurdles leading to a delay in its execution. Central Zone Commissioner N Ravi Kiran, chief city planner S Devender Reddy, superintending engineer Sridhar and senior officials from engineering and town planning departments participated in the inspection.
