Uma told the women that it was not just men who could manage their personal and professional lives. Uma shared, “I found it very difficult to manage my personal and professional life in the beginning. So I took a ten-year break from my professional life. When my husband was able to manage both personal and professional lives, I felt why couldn’t I do the same? That was when I got back to my profession.

” Talking about her marathon, Uma said, “I was worried about completing seven marathons in seven days. It's never easy to run 22 km after travelling for over 14 hours a day. But my commitment and strong passion for marathons made me complete the marathon and set a world record.”

“I had made up my mind to complete the task even though I was mentally and physically weak during the first three runs. In my last marathon, l lost my way and went in a wrong direction. But I did not give up and completed it with the help of a commuter. I learnt that nothing is impossible. It only takes commitment, dedication and determination to achieve something,” Uma said.
