An event focussing on the empowerment of transgender and Hijra community, Hijra Habba, will be held from 10.30 am at Hotel Marjan International, Nampally, on Tuesday. The solidarity event also aims to form the of ad hoc committee for the formation of Transgender and Hijra Welfare Board. Organised by Pehchan, a programme that aims to strengthen and build the capacity of Community Based Organisations (CBOs) in 17 States, the event will have a panel discussion on the issues faced by the community and steps to be taken for the welfare of its people.
