With an eye on the elections in Telangana State for the Graduate constituency of Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy and Mahabubnagar, the BJP has decided to field senior advocate N Ramachander Rao as its candidate. Ramachander Rao is also a member of the Press Council of India. Inspired by nationalistic ideology, he became active right from his student days highlighting problems of students and finding solutions. He was elected as the President of Railway Degree College.

As the leader of the ABVP in Osmania University at a time when the ultra Maoist groups were ruling the roost, he made unstinting efforts towards strengthening the nationalistic forces. Ramachander Rao toured counties such as America, Bulgaria, Israel, Middle East, Thailand, UK, France and Switzerland and studied the socio-economic-cultural conditions of these nations apart from participating in seminars against terrorism.

He published a number of articles discussing contemporary issues especially relating to the administration and maintenance of cities. In spite of his busy schedule as a lawyer, Ramachander Rao has been contributing to the growth of the party holding different positions at state and national levels. Ramachander Rao feels that as Telangana is a newly-formed state, it has been facing a slew of problems.

“Be it power shortage, unemployment, water for drinking and irrigation purposes, the state needs people who have a rational and balanced approach. Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy districts have diverse profiles with varied needs. Unless, we have a candidate who has nationalistic vision and understanding of the grassroots, it is difficult to expedite inclusive development. Being the national executive member of the BJP, I will be able to effectively liaison between the State and the Central Governments to accelerate development in entire Telangana,” he says.
