The State Bank of Hyderabad proposal for construction of a head office at Knowledge Park in Madhapur has been sanctioned by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC). The bank’s managing director Santanu Mukherjee handed over a cheque for Rs 3.08 crore to GHMC Commissioner Somesh Kumar towards its fees on Thursday.

The State Bank of Hyderabad proposal for construction of a head office at Knowledge Park in Madhapur has been sanctioned by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC). The bank’s managing director Santanu Mukherjee handed over a cheque for Rs 3.08 crore to GHMC Commissioner Somesh Kumar towards its fees on Thursday.

The new structure will be an environment friendly green building. Aiming for a platinum rating from the Green Building Council, the building will be constructed in an area of two lakh square feet and another one lakh square feet will be used for parking. The building will have rooftop solar panels for generating 450KW power, a landscaped garden with preservation of natural rock outcrop, STP for water recycling and conservation.

It will be designed for optimal use of natural light in the offices and oriented as per sun path to minimise heat gain. It will have energy efficient lighting devices and air conditioning systems to conserve power, an 800 seat modern auditorium and a branch office with deposit lockers for customers.
