Chennai-based Nanda Kumar, who spent 14 years studying about ornithopters, was the students’ inspiration and was present at the launch of the robotic bird. College correspondent TV Reddy said that innovations, research and development were important for young engineers to be successful. “For that reason we started the Pie Innovation Labs at our campus and made this ornithopter.

It feels great to see the students came up with such great ideas which are feasible and can be used in many works,” he said. The fest showcased other innovations and great ideas like hovercrafts, drag cars, drones, quad copters, robots, etc. Apart from these, fest also featured Sunburn with producer-turned-DJ Sartek and DJ duo ElektroVertz who performed later during the day. The second day of the fest will have fashion shows, DJ wars & many music events.
