The twisted case of GO 111

According to the GO, major industries, hotels and residential structures should not be constructed near 84 listed villages fall in six mandals such as Shamshabad, Moinabad, Shabad, Shankarpalli, Rajendranagar and Chevella. 60 percent of the total area must be kept open around 10 km radius and the floor space index should be 1:0.5 ratio. “The government is conspiring to give an opportunity for realtors to enter the prohibited zone and make money by spreading real-estate business in the area.

“Forget about shifting of industries, fresh permissions have been given for the construction of big structures like IT Park, engineering colleges, farm houses, apartments and others by setting aside the Supreme Court directions issued on December 1, 2000,” environmentalist Donthi Narasimha Reddy told the CityTAB. “The most surprising thing is that the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport also falls in the prohibited 10 km radius,” Reddy informed.
