The Sri Mahankali Jathara Ummadi Devalayala Uregimpu Committee of Greater Hyderabad on Saturday decided to invite Prime Minister Narendra Modi to participate in the ‘Ashada Bonalu Jatara’ scheduled to begin on July 10 and conclude on August 1. 

Hyderabad: The Sri Mahankali Jathara Ummadi Devalayala Uregimpu Committee of Greater Hyderabad on Saturday decided to invite Prime Minister Narendra Modi to participate in the ‘Ashada Bonalu Jatara’ scheduled to begin on July 10 and conclude on August 1.

The committee, which met here on Saturday and discussed about the arrangements for the annual festival, said the Bonalu festival would begin on July 10 at Sri Jagadambika temple atop Golconda fort. Later, the Bonalu will continue in Secunderabad at Sri Mahankali temple at General Bazar and Balkampet Yellamma temple on July 24 and 25. The festival will conclude in Old City at Sri Simhavahini Mahankali temple on August 1.

Speaking to the media on Saturday, the committee leader said as part of the Bonalu festivities, Abhisekham, Dwajarohanam and Kalashastapanam would be performed on July 22 followed by Laksha Phalarchana to Sri Mahankali Matha on July 23. The Bonalu utsava committee leaders have decided to go to Delhi to extend an invitation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to participate in the festival.
